When Ventus follows Vanitas to the [[Badlands]], Vanitas challenges him to a duel. After easily defeating Ventus, Vanitas attempts to destroy him with Dark Firaga, but [[Mickey Mouse]] miraculously appears due to the [[Star Shard]] and deflects the spell.

Later, Braig lures Terra to the [[Purification Facility]] and forces Terra to duel in order to rescue his hostage, Master Xehanort. Terra gives in to his darkness and easily defeats Braig, launching several shots of Dark Firaga that both permanently scar Braig and destroy Xehanort's chains.
