Dark Break is a technique introduced in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. It allows the user to leap into the air and attack enemies from above.

Mechanics
In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Dark Break is a command exclusive to Riku that allows him to leap into the air and strike enemies from above three times before creating a shockwave upon landing. The command takes up one slot in the Command Deck, and it has a reload time of 22 seconds.
In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Dark Break is an attack sleight that Riku can access while in Dark Mode. In Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, attacks are added by pressing t when prompted, while pressing t at the wrong time cancels the sleight.

In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Dark Break is an attack command that can be used exclusively by Riku. It allows him to leap into the air and strike enemies from above three times before creating a shockwave upon landing. The command takes up one slot in the Command Deck, and it has a reload time of 22 seconds. It grants +2 to Strength and +10 to Dark Resistance when attached to a Dream Eater recipe.

In Kingdom Hearts Union χ, Dark Break is a special attack that targets all enemies. It costs 4 special attack gauges to perform.

In Kingdom Hearts III, Dark Break is an action ability exclusive to Dark Form. It is the form's third and final ground combo finisher. Its damage is calculated based on Sora's Magic stat.

In Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, Dark Break is a physical ability that deals non-element damage. A variation of Dark Break lowers the user's Defense to deal more damage.

While he does not have access to it in the original Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, the Riku Replica can execute a variation of Dark Break known as "Helm Split" from his second battle onward against Sora and in both of his battles against Riku in Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories. The attack is based slightly on the Kingdom Hearts variation of Dark Break, as after the Riku Replica strikes his target from above, he concludes the Sleight by hitting Sora or Riku from below with several columns of dark flame.
