| | Counterattack is an ability in Kingdom Hearts. It is meant to be equipped in conjunction with Guard. It allows the user to quickly get in an attack directly after blocking an attack with Guard, it allows you to branch the first attack off into a combo, as well. It's useful for fights where the enemy has a fast recovery rate and will generally launch right back into an attack after Sora blocks it. It can also be used when parrying an attack by perfectly timing an attack and blocking the opponents attack with it. |
| is an ability that appears in Kingdom Hearts. It allows the user to immediately attack after parrying an enemy's attack.

| Note: It seems some enemies, especially later on in the game, can also use a form of this. Riku uses an odd form of this attack in the Destiny Islands, where, if hit onto the ground, he kicks back through Sora. He also uses this when you fight him for the second time at Hollow Bastion. He taunts you and holds his blade in a Guard-like stance and if Sora hits it, he quickly spins around and hits Sora, often launching into a another combo right afterwards. -->

| In Kingdom Hearts, Counterattack is a combat ability that costs 2 AP to equip. Successfully counterattacking restores some of Sora's MP. It also always inflicts a Critical Hit. Counterattack can also be deflected, and it can be performed from any form of normal recoil, from both an attack being deflected or successfully guarding. If Sora is wielding a Keyblade that's listed as being "difficult to deflect", he cannot be knocked off-balance when blocking/parrying an attack that would do so otherwise, and will instead react with normal recoil. This allows him to perform Counterattacks more often.

| In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Counterattack (Sora) is Sora's Down special move. When used, Sora goes into a Guarding stance with his Keyblade and grounded opponents that hit Sora in this state will be staggered, and Sora will launch a swift upward slash to counter. The move can also reflect projectiles, though it does not reverse their direction. Opponents can still hit Sora from behind without triggering Counterattack.
