The <b>{{nihongo|Book of Retribution|裁きの書|Sabaki no Sho}}</b> is a form of [[Zexion]]'s Lexicon in ''[[Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days]]''. In ''[[Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories]]'' and ''[[Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix]]'', the Book of Retribution is his only weapon. The Book of Retribution is volume VI of a work titled ''Ignes Fatui: Another Side'' ("''ignes fatui''" being Latin for "delusions"; titled ''Hallucination: Another Side'' in the Japanese version). ''Another Side'' is the name of the music played during ''[[Kingdom Hearts Final Mix]]'''s secret scene, [[Deep Dive]]. Also, a ''hallucination'' is also known as an illusion, which is Zexion's attribute and VI is Zexion's rank within the Organization.
 
When performing a ground combo, Zexion executes it with the usual slam, then two horizontal slams, then Zexion throws the book around. When using the extensive ground Y-combo, Zexion uses the normal slam, then an upper slam, then a vertical slam (in midair), then he will throw the Book of Retribution spinning forward. When performing the aerial combo, Zexion attacks using two vertical slams, then throws his Lexicon spinning forward.
 
Also in ''Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days'', Zexion can sometimes be seen reading the Book of Retribution when he is in the Grey Area.

The '''Book of Retribution''' is a [[Lexicon]] that can be wielded by [[Zexion]] in ''[[Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days]]''. It is his signature weapon, and his only weapon in ''[[Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories]]'' and ''[[Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix]]''. The Book of Retribution, unsurprisingly, is a book, and Zexion is often seen reading it while lounging in the [[Castle That Never Was#The Grey Area|Grey Area]].

It is unclear exactly what the pages of the Book of Retribution contain, but from what can be seen, it tells some sort of story and lacks a basic dictionary layout. The cover is a dark grey, embossed with three white, intertwined Nobody emblems. The back bears the outline of another Nobody logo. The spine of the book displays a Roman numeral for six, VI, along with the title "''Hallucination: Another Side''", superimposed over yet another Nobody symbol; in the North American and PAL versions of ''Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days'', "Hallucination" is replaced with "Ignes Fatui" ({{LangLat|Delusions}}). Both "Hallucination" and "Delusions" allude to Zexion's attribute of "Illusion", and the "VI" on the book references Zexion's rank as the sixth member of Organization XIII.

A [[Wiktionary:book|book]] is a collection of bound paper containing written material or illustrations. All of Zexion's weapons are lexicons—a type of book—and many are named after other types of books. "Retribution" is a synonym for "vengeance".
 
==Gameplay==
While the Book of Retribution is one of Zexion's stronger Lexicons, it is slightly unwieldy, as the combo finisher of his ground combo does not have the attack range that some of his other weapons do, more closely resembling those available early on. When he is on the ground, Zexion's combo is comprised of a forward slam, twin horizontal slams, and then a wide angled telepathic swing of the Book of Retribution.
 
When Zexion is performing his aerial combo, he will smack enemies twice in a left-to-right fashion, then finishing the combo by throwing the Lexicon forward. Pressing {{Button|dsy}} will cause Zexion to perform both a forward and upper slam, the {{Button|dsy}}-Combo ending with a toss of the Book of Retribution, and his aerial combo's combo finisher.
