| ==Design== | | ==Appearance== |
| The Black Guards wear black, skintight suits lined with orange circuitry, indicating their allegiance to CLU, and uniform, featureless helmets. They are also equipped with batons which they carry on their arms and are used to expand their armament with various additional weapons such as a sword, or staff, their backs can sprout ''Tron chutes'' to allow flight, and can carry grenades which they keep within their thighs.

| ==Personality== | | ==Personality== |
| Black Guard members do not express much emotion or personality, instead dutifully following any and all orders given to them by CLU, including the extermination of the ISOs and the brutal capture of stray programs, as they did with Sora and Riku.
| | Being reprogrammed by CLU to serve as his minions, the guards have little personality of their own other than following his orders. However, in the film, they have shown to act like normal programs when not on duty, since several guards can be seen in the End of Line club. |

| ==Strategy== | | ==Origin== |
| Black Guards frequently appear in pairs. They drop down suddenly out of nowhere, but if the player can quickly find them, there is a short pause before they can use any of their abilities. The guards cycle between an air mode and a ground mode. In the ground mode, they attack with their staves and by throwing bombs. In the air mode, they sprout ''Tron chutes'' and take to the sky, throwing bombs and discs at Sora. They are fast and aggressive, but vulnerable to most status effects as long as they are grounded. Landing an attack on them while they are airborne will knock them to the ground, stunning them.

| ==Origin==
| |
| The Black Guards debuted in ''{{w|Tron: Legacy}}''. Like Tron, they were all reprogrammed to serve as CLU's army and henchmen, but they can act like normal programs when not on duty, as several guards are seen relaxing in the ''End of Line'' club. Many appeared on the Rectifier during CLU's speech about invading the userworld to perfect it. Flynn managed to reprogram one (by tampering with his Identity Disk, then hitting him in the head) to allow him to steal a Fighter Jet. It's unknown what happened to the Black Guards following the destruction of the Portal and CLU.
