The Battlefields of War resembles Auron's starting weapon in ''Final Fantasy X'', a sword known as the "{{ff|Katana (weapon type)|Katana}}" in the English version. In the Japanese version, it is more accurately classified as a {{w|tachi}}. Further, this specific weapon shares its Japanese name with one of Auron's swords in ''Final Fantasy X'', the {{nihongo|{{ff|Warblade|War Blade}}|戦太刀|Ikusadachi}}.
