Quasimodo's first appearance is in the TGS 2011 trailer, in which he is shown holding an unconscious [[Esmeralda]] and offering to aid [[Riku]] against a massive Dream Eater inside Notre Dame. Further screenshots show him interacting with Esmeralda and Riku, and later with [[Sora]], who orders him to flee from danger.
Quasimodo is first seen during the [[Dream Eater]] attack at the Feast of Fools, having been crowned King of Fools and riding a Nightmare [[Zolephant]]. Sora arrives and orders him to run, but Quasi tells him he cannot because of his status as the Feast's King. When Frollo arrives, Quasimodo cowers in fear, prompting the Zolephant to knock him off its back. He is then helped into Notre Dame by the gypsy [[Esmeralda]]. Inside, he shows her around the bells, asking her if she'll stay in Notere Dame because she claimed sanctuary to prevent Frollo from arresting her. However, when Esmeralda says gypsies don't deal well with being trapped inside stone walls, Quasimodo helps her escape by navigating his way down the building. All the while, Sora was watching him along with hsi gargoyle friends.

In Riku's story, Quasimodo meets him after being directed to Notre Dame for answers about Frollo. Explaining Frollo had "business" at the edge of town, Quasomodo is encouraged by Riku to not be ashamed of his appearance and go out into the world to find true friends who see him for who he is in his heart. These words leave Quasimodo questioning what his master had been telling him.

He later overhears [[Phoebus]] warning Sora about Frollo's plot to attack the gypsy safe-haven, the Court of Miracles. Quasimodo decides to help Esmeralda and her friends, taking out a pendant she gave him and realising that it's actualty a map of the city. Using it, he. Phoebus and Sora manage to find the Court of Miracles and warn Esmarala. However, Frollo ended up using them to find the hideout and kidnaps Esmeralad, planning to burn her at the stake in the town square. Quasi tries asking his master to reconsider, but is too fearful of him to assert himself; Sora is knocked out and left behind.

He later saves Esmeralad from being burned and taking her to Notre Dame to claim sanctuary for her.  However this does not stop Frollo, who follows him and reveals that he killed his mother 20 years ago. While Frollo tries killing him with a sword, he falls to his death. Quasi is saved from sharing the same fate thanks to his new friends Phoebus and Esmeralda, who he then blesses the relationship of. Speaking to Sora once more, Quasimodo tells him that he was right; the real walls were the ones he built around his heart to make it his prison. He then leaves to join society.

In Riku's story, he stays behind to tend to Esmeralda while Riku deals with Frollo and his Dream Eater. After both are vanquished, Quasimodo thansk Riku for his kinds words, learning that they came from Riku's personal experience.

"You helped me. Now I will help you."
—Quasimodo to Esmeralda

Quasimodo is a character who appears in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. He originates from the 1996 Disney film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Development

Quasimodo's first appearance is in the TGS 2011 trailer, in which he is shown holding an unconscious Esmeralda and offering to aid Riku against a massive Dream Eater inside Notre Dame. Further screenshots show him interacting with Esmeralda and Riku, and later with Sora, who orders him to flee from danger.

Appearance

Quasimodo is a deformed young man, with a large hunch on his back, along with a lump above his left eye. He also has a large nose and a massive central incisor. He is most frequently seen in a green shirt, black trousers and blue shoes.

Origin

"All my life, you've told me the world was a dark, cruel place! But now I see that the only thing dark and cruel about it is people like you!"
—Quasimodo to Frollo as he prepares to kill him.

Though Quasimodo's very first appearance was in 1831 in Victor Hugo's novel, Notre-Dame de Paris, this incarnation of the character first appears in the 1996 film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, in which he is raised by Judge Claude Frollo inside the cathedral and forbidden from ever leaving, on the basis that such a heartless society would never accept him. Frollo's words almost come true when Quasimodo does sneak out to attend the Festival of Fools, where he is ridiculed and tortured by the cruel peasantry until a kindhearted gypsy girl, Esmeralda, defies Frollo and defends Quasimodo from the cruel crowd. Quasimodo begins to fall in love with Esmeralda, and it is this love that leads him to rebel against Frollo's tyranny, which ultimately leads to a showdown between Quasimodo and Frollo atop the balconies of Notre Dame. Following Frollo's demise, Quasimodo is hailed a hero and accepted into the society at last.
