Once the Organization caught wind of the [[Battle of the 1000 Heartless]], Demyx was ordered to head to Hollow Bastion to ensure that Sora slew the Heartless that Maleficent was using to attack the city. To Demyx's surprise, he exited a dark corridor right in front of Sora, Donald and Goofy at the Castle Gates; he greets them in a friendly manner, but is told to move aside as they don't consider him a threat. Sora recalls seeing Demyx back in the [[Underworld]], wondering who "this kook" is; Goofy reminds them Nobodies don't have hearts. The words sting Demyx, who insists that Nobodies DO have hearts. When Donald reaffirms the truth, Demyx drops his facade and tells the "traitor" to be silent, confusing Sora. Demyx calls up his sitar and fights seriously this time.
