After the disappearance of his sister and the other upper classmen during the [[Mark of Mastery exam]], Baldr receives a different task from Master Odin and is not sent together with his classmates to find them.{{storylink|Episode 1: Unexpected Departure}} Baldr later reveals his sister, Hoder, was killed trying to protect him from [[Maleficent]] when actually they played into the Willful Darkness' trap. As his sister didn't protect him from the dragon but the entity itself but the negative emotion and rage from his sister's death allowed him to be possessed by a Willful Darkness named Hringhorn. Baldr goes on a rampage, killing many throughout Scala Ad Caelum. In his quest to kill 13 lights to feed 13 darknesses, he successfully assassinated all 6 of his sister's classmates, as well as [[Hermod]], [[Urd]] and [[Vor]].
