Guard Break (ストライドブレイク, Sutoraido Bureiku, lit. "Stride Break") is a technique introduced in Kingdom Hearts II. It allows the user to unleash a powerful finishing combo move while piercing through an enemy's guard.

Mechanics

In Kingdom Hearts II, Guard Break is an action ability exclusive to Sora that costs 3 AP to equip. It allows Sora to pierce a single target's guard with a short, powerful thrust, launching them into the air. The ability's trait of bypassing physical defense stems from it dealing Neutral damage rather than Physical. Guard Break is also equal to Finishing Leap in strength.
