The ~~story largely~~ focuses on [[Roxas]]'s time ~~as a member of~~ the ~~Organization XIII,~~ and ~~thus, all the members are present here. This and ''Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep'' are~~ the ~~only installments~~ to ~~date where~~ the fourteenth member, [[Xion]], is ~~ever mentioned~~.

The Organization plays a large role in this game as it focuses mainly on [[Roxas]] time within the organization and it is the first installment to feature the fourteenth member [[Xion]].The members of the organization were repeatdley engaged on missions in order gather hearts and accompolish their ultimate goal of completing Kingdom hearts.Roxas and Xion played a key role in this plot as the two both possessed the ablity to wield the keyblade.They were sent on various missions to destroy various Emblem Heartless in order to release and capture the hearts.As the plot continues it is eventually revealed that Xion is a replica created from Sora's memories who's purpose is to absorb Roxas and become a complete clone of Sora.However Xion has developed a close relationship with Roxas and after learing that her existence is causing harm to Roxas, she sets up a situation in which causes Roxas is forced to seemiling kill her.This ruins Xemnas' plan and eventually leads to Roxas being captured by Riku.

Only eight members ([[Xemnas]], [[Axel]], [[Demyx]], [[Xaldin]], [[Xigbar]], [[Luxord]], [[Saïx]], and [[Roxas]]) of the Organization remained at the beginning of ''Kingdom Hearts II''. Sora and his friends took every single remaining member down, save Roxas, who became one with Sora, and Axel, who sacrificed himself so that Sora and his friends could save Kairi. In the end, Organization XIII is ultimately destroyed when Sora and Riku defeat Xemnas.
