Reconnect. Kingdom Hearts is the secret ending of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Like Blank Points and Signs of What's Next, it uses in-game engine graphics, ends with the phrase "Reconnect. Kingdom Hearts", and does not tease a future game, instead serving as the true ending of the game, although this ending could also be seen as a prelude to the events of Kingdom Hearts III.
Synopsis
The darkness awakens
Master Xehanort is shown as a young man on Destiny Islands, staring into the distance and mentioning that his world is too small, reminiscent of the opening scene in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, although this time, Xehanort's face is shown as he speaks.
The light in the darkness
Aqua is shown standing on the Dark Margin, staring into the distance.

Donald and Goofy are shown sitting outside the entrance to the Mysterious Tower, wondering about the whereabouts of Sora. Goofy mentions that Lea has returned to the Radiant Garden and Riku still hasn't returned from a mission Yen Sid sent him on. Just then, someone arrives. Donald and Goofy greet Riku, but stop short when they see that he is not alone.
Inside the Sorcerer's Chamber, Yen Sid and Mickey are shown in conversation. Yen Sid goes over the history of the Keyblade War and the X-Blade, and how Kingdom Hearts was swallowed and replaced by the Seven Hearts of Pure Light. However, Yen Sid adds that there were also seven lights split from the shattered X-Blade for the purpose of protecting the seven hearts. Given that Master Xehanort may go after the Princesses of Heart in order to recreate the X-Blade, Yen Sid concludes that they will be needing seven lights to protect the seven hearts, although they will be up against thirteen darknesses. Mickey surmises that they only need one more protector, and at that moment, Riku returns with a visitor, whom Yen Sid claims can also wield a Keyblade. To Mickey's amazement, it is Kairi.
